Chair Yoga with Julie

Thursday, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm – on Zoom

This class uses a chair (placed on your mat) as the primary prop to support your practice of Yoga. About half the class is done from the seated position in the chair, and the other half done from a standing position near the chair. The focus is on building strong and purposeful breathing to support postures that increase range of motion and flexibility, build strength, and improve balance. The tradition of Yoga is to reconnect mind, body and breath for greater awareness of one’s self. You will find that same connection here in Chair Yoga.

Yoga & Meditation with Carol

Sunday, 10:30 am – 11:30 pm – on Zoom

While we usually think of yoga as a physical exercise, the tradition of yoga has always included meditation as part of its experience.  Breath aligned yoga serves to settle the roaming tendencies of the mind and prepares the body for seated meditation.  This Sunday morning class includes “all levels” yoga practice, breath work (pranayama) and focused relaxation followed by comfortable seated meditation.  No prior experience with yoga or meditation is required for this class!

Restorative Yoga with Jen Zimmerman Bronder

Restorative yoga and other healing-based yoga practices such as yoga nidra are part of a thousands of years old wisdom tradition. Unlike the dynamic movement of a typical yoga class, restorative yoga is slow-paced and incorporates the use of props to fully support the body in a few simple postures.  As restorative postures are comfortably held for 5 – 15 minutes, we deeply relax to replenish our stores of energy and recover a sense of calmness.  Restorative yoga classes are located in Studio A; class size is limited to 5.
