
How to Pay for Class
Join us for yoga! In person, Zoom, and recorded classes are all $10/class and YOUR FIRST CLASS IS ALWAYS FREE. 6 Class “Punch Cards” are available for purchase for $60 and can be used for any class on the weekly schedule. Punch cards never expire and are perfect for people whose schedule varies from week to week. Our teachers take attendance at the beginning of every class and we will email you when you need to purchase a new class card. Pay for your class card using Venmo or by check. For Venmo payment, the account is @ElliottsFitness; use 9202 if a four digit number is requested. For payment by check, please make out your check payable to “First Street Community Development Center” (or “FSCDC”) and mail to Trude Elliott, 221 First Street East, Mt. Vernon, IA 52314. THANK YOU!
In Person Classes
Winter weather cancellation policy: In person classes are cancelled when the Mt Vernon Community Schools are cancelled. In the case of school 2-hour delay, classes are generally held as scheduled, but please make it a habit to check your email for any last-minute cancellations before heading out to class. All Season Health Policy: Please stay home if you have the symptoms of illness; we look forward to seeing you back in class as soon as you are feeling better.
Evening Yoga with Jen
Monday, 6:30 – 7:30 pm – Studio C and on ZOOM**
Designed for the end of the day, this class relieves stress and tension through a combination of breath awareness, slow flow movement, supported postures (asana), and guided relaxation. Appropriate for all student levels. – This class is currently on hold.

Gentle Yoga with Jen
Tuesday, 10 – 11 am, Studio A and on Zoom
Gentle Yoga is a relaxing, slow flow class that consciously links movement with breath. Props may be used to help increase range of motion and support good alignment in the poses. Appropriate for all student levels.

Hatha Yoga with Julie
Thursday, 10:00 – 11:15 am – Studio A
This class utilizes classic Hatha Yoga exercises (asana) combined with mindful breathing (pranayama) to develop a healthy body and calm mind. Appropriate for all student levels.

Zoom Yoga Hatha Yoga with Carol
Thursday, 9:00 – 10:00 am – join in on ZOOM at class time or request the class recording*
Similar to the class above, Zoom Hatha Yoga utilizes classic Hatha Yoga asana combined with pranayama to experience a healthy body and calm mind. However, due to the Zoom interface, this class is most appropriate for students with yoga experience who have developed the necessary foundational skills during in person instruction.

Yoga & Meditation with Carol
Sunday, 10:30 am – 11:30 pm – join in on ZOOM at class time or request the class recording*
While we usually think of yoga as a physical exercise, the tradition of yoga has always included meditation as part of its experience. Breath aligned yoga serves to settle the roaming tendencies of the mind and prepares the body for seated meditation. This Sunday morning class includes a short movement practice, breath work (pranayama) and focused relaxation followed by comfortable seated meditation. No prior experience with yoga or meditation is required for this class!

Restorative Yoga with Jen Zimmerman-Bronder
Restorative yoga and other healing-based yoga practices such as yoga nidra are part of a thousands of years old wisdom tradition. Unlike the dynamic movement of a typical yoga class, restorative yoga is slow-paced and incorporates the use of props to fully support the body in a few simple postures. As restorative postures are comfortably held for 5 – 15 minutes, we deeply relax to replenish our stores of energy and recover a sense of calmness. Restorative yoga classes are located in Studio A; class size is limited to 5. – This class is currently on hold.
